1. Scope and contact
This policy applies to the Sonary app provided by Tengfei and the sonary.tengfei.io website. For privacy or data-handling questions, email tengfei.heart@gmail.com.
2. Records and on-device AI
Item and container names, notes, tags, quantities, locations, expiry dates, selected photos and generated stickers support recording, management, stocktaking, reminders and search. In personal-data mode, these records are saved persistently on your device.
Photo recognition, foreground extraction and text/image vector computation run on your device. We do not upload photos, recognized content or search text to a developer-operated AI server. Search indexes and thumbnails are local data that can be rebuilt.
The app corrects photo orientation, compresses photos and creates associated stickers. Photo library identifiers are used only as local references. Recognition suggestions require your confirmation, and you enter item quantities. Demo mode uses separate in-memory data: changes reset when the app process restarts and are not written to your personal inventory.
3. iCloud sync and sharing
iCloud sync is off by default. When you enable it, inventory records, associated photos, stickers and personal tags are processed and synced through Apple’s iCloud services, not through a developer-operated inventory server. Availability depends on the app’s features, your account and system settings.
When you choose to share a container, its items, photos and inventory records become accessible to invited members according to the sharing permissions. Personal tags are not included in shared contents. Share only information you want those members to see.
Turning off sync in the app does not automatically delete existing iCloud data or stop sharing. Permission changes need to reach other devices and may be delayed on offline devices. Apple’s handling of data is also governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
4. System permissions
- Camera and photos: Used for photos you choose to take or select and for image search. The system photo picker provides only your selected content. Additional photo library access, where used, depends on system authorization.
- Notifications: Requested when you choose to enable expiry reminders, to schedule local notifications.
- Device motion: Used for visual effects in supported card interactions, not for advertising or profiling.
You can manage permissions in system settings. Denying or revoking a permission affects the corresponding feature and does not authorize us to use data for other purposes.
5. Purchases and restores
Pro purchases and restores use Apple StoreKit and the App Store. The app checks verified transactions and entitlements to determine access to features and may store related state locally. The developer does not receive your card number or payment credentials. Restoring purchases connects to Apple services; refunds and transaction handling follow Apple’s rules.
6. Website and support email
This website has no advertising tracking, analytics SDKs or profiling cookies, and offers no account registration or online file uploads. Hosting and network providers may process technical logs such as IP addresses, browser information, requested paths and request times for delivery, security and troubleshooting.
Selecting a contact email opens your email tool. We receive your email address, message and attachments only when you send them. We use them to respond to and resolve your request. Do not send passwords, payment credentials or unnecessary photos of private belongings. Relevant email service providers also process these messages.
Only when you switch languages do we save your language choice in this browser’s local storage for future visits. This preference is not sent to us. Clear this website’s browser data to reset it.
7. Retention and deletion
You can edit and delete items, photos and containers in the app. To preserve inventory history and sync consistency, deletion may retain historical records or deletion markers; it does not mean all underlying data is immediately physically erased. Turning off sync does not delete cloud records.
You can delete the app through your device’s system controls to remove its on-device data. This does not automatically remove copies in iCloud or system backups. Manage iCloud data and backups using Apple’s storage controls. Consider the effect on members before deleting shared contents. Copies independently saved by members are outside the app’s control.
Information you send to support is retained for handling your request and necessary follow-up. You may email us to request access to or deletion of information you sent us. After verifying the request, we will act on it and explain any legal retention requirements or technical limits. We cannot read or delete inventory stored on your device or in your Apple account on your behalf.
8. Security, minors and policy updates
The app uses storage and permission mechanisms provided by the device and Apple’s platforms. Protect your device and Apple account, and grant sharing permissions carefully. No storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security.
This is a general-purpose inventory tool, not a service specifically for children. Minors should use purchases and sharing under a guardian’s guidance. If unnecessary personal information about a child has been sent to support, please contact us so we can address it.
When features or data-handling practices change, we will update this policy and its date. We will provide appropriate notice of significant changes that require notification or consent. You can raise privacy questions through our Contact & Support page at any time.
